Secrets of the Inner World

We all are in general oblivious of the powers and abilities of the “Inner World”. This series which aims at unfolding this hidden aspect of the “Inner World” is being given out for experimentation and is not merely a piece for interesting reading. As the general queries we receive pertain generally to questions relating to techniques for the attainment of a glow without artificial aids for developing self-confidence and bringing about an emotional stability, so here we will explain the techniques of opening the three granthis- Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra by the three bandhas. I also intend to explain the Mahabandha and its innumerable benefits.

A youthful glow in the practitioners and a strong self-confidence along with Sthirta are just some of the tangent results if this Bandha is practiced properly under a Gurus guidance. The cause of most diseases which are the basic imbalances tend to disappear and one feels happy and youthful till whatever age. There are two kinds of worlds, one the outer or the manifested, the second, the inner or the unmanifested. This unmanifested world has a unique ability and power to manifest at will and has an unlimited potential. The one that has already manifested is only a fraction of what is possible. This is what our Rishis of the Vedic era discussed and passed it down to us to benefit from.

Have you ever noticed the fact that whenever we look for a solution to a major problem we always go inwards and ponder? Is it not so true that to become a Buddha ( Master of the Buddhi, here implying the mastery over five senses of touch, taste, hearing, seeing, smell) one has to close his eyes and look inwards for ages? Is it not true that before the atomic bomb was made, first the thought came in the inner world and that is what manifested in the physical? It is doubtless that the “Inner World” is real and the physical only it's fractional reflection.

It is so unfortunate that in todays world which we term as the modern day world Yoga has become synonymous with asanas which are further synonymous with exercises. But what we fail to understand is the fact that exercises work from the outer to the inner world, which is not what our Rishis intended. The manifested world is too weak; it's too fragile and limited hence, its effects are too short lived. A Yogi remains healthy and glowing till his death. Paramhansa Yogananda was glowing even till a week before leaving his body. All this can not be achieved by doing complicated asanas and exercises. But is possible only by practices which are internal, only their effects manifest externally. The Mahabandha which we will discuss in this series is one such practice.
