Real estate has boomed in India like never before in the past five years. But only a handful of names really command respect and credibility in the real estate market, booming with builders and developers.
From an NRI perspective, it is important that we focus on credible names in the real estate market. In June, we’d put Omaxe group on the cover. And now we’ve chosen to go with Tulip Infratech that has come up with a rich array of projects in north India, particularly in Gurgaon.
We’ve a range of stories in the magazine that cover a spectrum of topics. With Barack Obama lining up all his resources for a re-run for the American presidency, some eyes are on the quiet and efficient workaholics who chip away relentlessly during the campaign. One such campaign-specialist is Shefali Razdan Duggal, an Indian American who speaks with us. Another Indian American, Shalli Kumar, has dealt with some tough questions on cutting aid to Pakistan, an issue that the organization he is part of—the National Indian American Coalition—has taken up with the US Government time and again.
We have a story on another Indian American, Harsh Bhargava, who features in the coffee table book titled Global Indian Diaspora (see inside for details) brought out by India Empire Publications. He has set up I Create that aims to create millions of jobs in India within the next decade.
There’s a story on Brickfields, the Little India in Malaysia, also courtesy the coffee table book. And several other features, including a political story from the hill state of Uttarakhand, a review of Gangs of Wasseypur and one on Baba Ramdev who’s decided to take the Government head first, on the issue of corruption.
