HELP WANTED
SUBJECT: Grabbing of property
I'm an NRI living in Finland. My house (plot no. 2249) is in Moga, Punjab on G.T. Road, opposite Pankaj Scooter showroom. The owners of the adjacent plot (2248) are forcing me to sell my plot to them. In violation of court orders they have broken my gate and are threatening to join both properties and make it their own. They also threaten to file a false case against me when I return to India. The police refuse to file an FIR. Please help.

Ansal Penalised
In reference to a recent court decision by the National Commission, we would like to bring to your attention the salient features of the landmark case:
1. The case filed by Mrs Veena Khanna, a 54-year-old middle class housewife against Ansal Properties & Industries Ltd and Ansal Buildwell Ltd.
2. The decision comes after 8 years of hard fought battle by Mrs Khanna against the realty major Ansals at all levels of the consumer court. Ansals had defaulted on the contract agreement with Mrs Khanna of handing over an independent house booked way back in 1996 to be allotted in the month of June 1999. However, the construction of the house did not begin as late as June 1999 due to which Mrs. Khanna filed a case in 2000.
3. The court has directed Ansals to pay a compensation of Rs 7.5 lakh and a total amount of roughly Rs 40 lakh (details attached) which makes this case the biggest in terms of compensation in relation to property disputes.
4. Its relevance in today's context is even more as there are many misled consumers who have invested in various housing projects across the country under various real estate developers who lure home seekers.
