CHAMP OF MISSED CALLS ON THE ANTI-TERROR FRONT

French turn off their mobiles during meals, Chinese call and hang up after few seconds while Spanish are reluctant to use voicemail. But when it comes to Indians, it is the missed call they are most (in) famous for.
The Indian mobile user seems to have mastered the art of ‘missed calls’ - and actually to communicate without answering the calls! While cellphone operators are reluctant to give the exact share of missed calls, according to industry estimates, it is somewhere around 20-25 per cent.
“Even though cellular tariffs are pretty low, people were ingeneously using ‘Missed calls’ for signalling and saving money. The call rates are already low but most users want to make it lower by resorting to missed calls,” says V. Kumar, a cellphone user, who on an average gets around 10-15 missed calls every day.

Terrorism is a criminal act that influencs an audience beyond the immediate victim. Terrorists are developing new devices and techniques of attack on their existing methods. Infact, terrorist groups have shown significant progress in extending their activities from a subordinate role in nation-state conflicts to becoming prominent as international influences. Folklore Research Academy Amritsar is an organization, which has been making efforts to promote friendly relations and establish peace and harmony among the countries of South Asia since last ten years. It has played a very significant role in improving ties especially between India and Pakistan by building public opinion and pressure.

B-SCHOOL BIG BUCKS PIPELINE PLOWS AHEAD
The final placement process at IIM Bangalore, which concluded recently saw the institute set new benchmarks for Indian MBA graduates with the highest salary offer from foreign placements touching $193,000, also a new record across the IIMs. It was a career in consulting and investment banking which found favour with the students this time with 26 per cent of the batch of 182, accepting a position in consulting,” Saurabh Bansal, representative of Iimb Placement Committee said. IIMB created history this time with almost one-third of the batch taking up offers from day zero (Mar 10), a statistic unmatched across the IIMs, Bansal said. Overall, 110 companies participated in the placement process with the average international salary increasing to $90,000. India, Pakistan and Iran are discussing three possible routes for the over $7 billion tri-nation gas pipeline and each of these plans involve passing through the troubled region of Baluchistan in Pakistan. “As regards the pipeline route of the Indo-Iran pipeline project, conceptually three alternatives, namely, northern, central and southern routes are being discussed,” minister of state for petroleum and natural gas Dinsha Patel told Parliament.
“Each route configuration will be studied in detail with respect to its merits/demerits during the preparation of the detailed project report,” he said in a written reply. He said: “the Iran-Pakistan-India pipeline would have to cross Baluchistan in any logical route option.” He, however, said adequate safeguards would be built in the project structure to ensure safety and security of gas supplied to India.
