JULY 2021
I would like to stress the role of a continuous dialogue on the high and highest levels to facilitate dynamic development of bilateral economic cooperation. There were three visits of the President of the Republic of Belarus H.E. Mr. Aleksandr Lukashenko to India (in 1997, 2007 and 2017). The President of the Republic of India H.E. Mr. Pranab Mukherjee visited Belarus in 2015.
Over the last 5 years the volume of exports to India increased by 1.5 times from $ 268 million to $ 404 million. Imports also increased in volumes by $ 38 million (1.3 times). Such statistics reflect good dynamics in foreign trade between our friendly countries. In 2020, the volume of Belarusian-Indian trade amounted to over $ 575 million, including Belarusian exports of $ 404 million. In 2020, large capacity mining dump trucks, chemical products, cord materials for tires, fiber glass, processed leather, bearings, wood products, and other Belarusian goods were exported to the Indian market. For its part, the Republic of Belarus imports such Indian goods as medicines, seafood, numerous chemical products, rice, coffee, tea and many others.

"In recent years, India has increased its role as a serious and reliable investor in Belarusian economy. The parties are working to attract direct investments, including within the framework of the concept of the Belarusian-Indian production and investment cluster in Special Economic Zone Bremino-Orsha. A draft decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus has been prepared, the adoption of which will enhance the attractiveness for Indian investors of the project to create a Belarusian-Indian production and investment cluster. A corresponding Belarusian-Indian working group has been formed."
