Bangladesh mission pays homage to Pranab Mukherjee

Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi condoled the demise of former Indian president Pranab Mukherjee at a special meeting in September. High Commissioner Muhammad Imran led the guests and members of the mission in placing wreaths and flower petals at a portrait of the late president. One-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to him.
Presided over by the high commissioner the meeting was addressed also by Abhijit Roy, PS to Pranab Mukherjee and three renowned Indian journalists: Gautam Lahiri, Joyanta Ghosal and Smita Sharma.
Paying his tribute, HC Imran spoke about Pranab’s deep love for Bangladesh and how deeply Bangladeshis loved and admired him as a true friend. Quoting 15th century poet Chandidas, HC Imran said Pranab Mukherjee was a great believer in humanity.
