Two Indian-origin doctors, a father and daughter, who died of COVID-19 after contracting the deadly disease while treating infected patients, have been hailed by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy for their selfless dedication to caring for others. Murphy said in May that Satyender Dev Khanna and his daughter Priya Khanna “dedicated their lives to helping others and we lost both of them to COVID-19”. They were part of a family of five doctors and Murphy said of the three survivors. “I hope that the fact that our entire state mourns with them is some small comfort.”
