Our coverage on Luxembourg has only grown ...

One of the LGX’s prominent members is the Luxembourg-headquartered steel giant Arcelor Mittal. Mr Scharfe has provided us with an incisive insight on why it is now increasingly incumbent on large companies such as Arcelor Mittal to go for clean and sustainable industrial manufacturing. Arcelor Mittal needs to fulfill a certain number of clean production and environment criteria that are getting imposed on them by European car manufacturers who in turn are creating greater value in the supply chain for the end users—that is the car owners. Initially Arcelor Mittal would have seen this imposition as an additional cost burden, but they now realize that they have a clear competitive advantage as compared to other steel manufacturers. As Mr Scharfe points out, it’s not just about the price, but also what else you deliver in terms of best practices, that matters.

Elsewhere in the magazine there are many items on business and governance than you can navigate through. We’ve a contribution from Mr Chanrav Burenbayar, Minister-Counsellor at the Mongolian Embassy in India, on key amendments being made to Mongolia’s Constitution for the second time. The Founder and CEO of California-based Interra Information Technologies Inc., Mr Ashoke K Laha has contributed a column on Management by Coaching, something he says helps arrest, first and foremost, attrition in any organization.
Happy reading.
