The book starts with a section on the Indian community in Southern California. The author has included as much historical information as he could research. Other articles provide information which also add to the historical aspect of the community. The article on philanthropy gives brief description of people in Southern California who have donated substantial amount to various causes in America as also in India. A few articles on some community organizations in another section not only supplement historic information but also describe the objectives for which they have been formed. A few business profiles have been included. Another long segment is on Indians in America. One article gives history of Indian migration and settlement in the USA, and another lists people who have made India and Indian Americans proud.

Having lived in Los Angeles for about five decades, and having kept abreast of almost every kind of writing on Indian Americans over the last several years, I can say that this book is a valuable addition about Indian community in greater Los Angeles area.
