Mauritius’ High Commissioner to India H.E. J. Goburdhun visited the states of Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh recently. He was accompanied all along by Mr Shool Pani Singh, Social Activist. They visited Athila village in the Rasra sub-division of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh to meet the family of Mauritius Prime Minister Mr Pravind Jugnauth. PM Jugnauth’s roots have been traced to Athila recently. They also visited Gopalganj, Arrah, Jagdishpur to pay obeisance to Babu Veer Kunwar Singh, a notable leader during the days of Indian rebellion of 1857 and Bhikari Thakur, fondly remembered as the Shakespeare of Bhojpuri.
