Interview with H.E. Mr Jozef Drofenik, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to India
In May, we’ve completed 25 years of Indo-Slovenian diplomatic relationships. We are at a high point in the relationships. What are your views on this?
Yes, we are at a high point in relations. But like any other Ambassador, I’d like to see relations strengthening even further. Our diplomatic relations were established in May 1992, and in 2002 our embassy was established in New Delhi and in 2007 Embassy of India in Ljubljana. Our Cabinet Minister responsible for Development, Strategic Projects and Cohesion was here recently, attending a private kind of an international conference called Women Economic Forum. She also marked together with the Minister of State M. J. Akbar our celebration of the 25 Anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations between India and Slovenia. Bilateral visits on high level last three years were from the Indian side, Minister of State for External Affairs General V.K. Singh, who has been to Slovenia in September 2014. Speaker of the Slovenian Parliament Milan Brglez was here on an official visit at the end of 2015. I remember a Slovenian journalist asking me what would we as a nation benefit from the Speaker’s visit to India. My response was simple. I said the Speaker was here to build upon the existing friendship with India, and there is no doubt that friendship is good for business. Have your heard of any two people that are not friends doing business?
Comments.
