INTERVIEW WITH H.E. MR PETKO DOYKOV

AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA TO INDIA

Indo-Bulgarian relations seem to have evolved into a binding friendship since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1954. What are your views?

I could not agree with you more. 2014 was a year of particular importance for Bulgaria and India as the two countries marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. A special post card was validated on the occasion and distributed to representatives of official Indian institutions and Indian friends in Bulgaria.

Political interaction, commercial exchanges and contacts in the areas of culture and education have always been given due attention by the two governments. In addition, people to people contacts are nowadays an important part of our bilateral relations. With the main focus on maintaining the existing institutionalised framework of cooperation, the efforts pursued by the embassy are aimed at the establishment of new partnerships.

All these activities create strong bonds between our two countries and these bonds can only be defined as a binding friendship.
