Santiago: Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh planted a sapling of Pyrus calleryana at Plaza de la India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, highlighting the global relevance of Mission LiFE.
In March, Mr Singh paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at the Plaza, reflecting on Gandhiji’s legacy of satya and ahimsa. In a meeting with Chile’s President Jose Antonio Kast Rist, Mr Singh reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening partnerships focused on trade, technology, mining, development cooperation, and people-to-people ties. He also met former President Gabriel Boric Font.

The Ministry of External Affairs noted that discussions covered trade, investment, health and pharmaceuticals, traditional medicines, science and technology, mining, mineral exploration, education, space, agriculture, digital public infrastructure, innovation, and green energy, while diversifying bilateral ties in areas of contemporary relevance.
