LITTLE ARTISTS GROUP
Shalini Kapoor is the Founder and Director of Little Artists Art Studio group of companies in Singapore. Originally from Prayagraj (Allahabad), she made Singapore her home 28 years ago. Starting from humble beginnings in 1997, Little Artists has grown alongside Singapore, into a well-recognized, multi-award-winning studio and a school, with a diverse student population from 2.5yrs-17 years and adults and contributed to Singapore becoming the Arts Hub of Asia.
As a visionary founder, Shalini’s journey in the art world is a testament to her dedication to nurturing creativity and excellence in young artists. Trained in design and arts in India, her 27-plus years of professional experience encompass a broad spectrum of roles, from educator to art therapist, innovator to mentor. In establishing Little Artists, Shalini united her twin passions: art and teaching. Her students go on regularly to the top colleges around the world – the top Ivy League and well known art institutes around the world known for art /design/architecture programs. To name a few – UPenn, Parsons, Royal College of Art London, Pratt institute, Carnegie Mellon and Cornell.
With a firm belief in no-child-left-behind, the studio’s outreach is also open to students with special needs. Her programs have had success with special needs students who had ADHD, dyslexia, autism, audio processing disorder, language processing disorders etc. There are specialized programs in art therapy to schools and hospitals for children and adults with Special Needs, from photography to sculpture and painting.
Beyond creative and academic success, she has created platforms and opportunities for her students to be visible with the very best in the field. Her studio has showcased young emerging artists to thousands of visitors at the prestigious Affordable Art Fair, The Singapore Contemporary, The Arts House at Old Parliament, and the National Gallery. Recently, the studio achieved a milestone in this journey, with her students getting invited to a prestigious gallery in the heart of Paris, to showcase their artistic talents and make their international debut.
A staunch advocate for social contribution, Shalini actively engages in workshops for non-profit organizations, offering support to the underprivileged. Her commitment to community service is reflected in her efforts to make art accessible to all, fostering a more inclusive and empathetic society. She has worked closely as consulting art therapist with mental health patients at Singapore Association of Mental Health (1997-2000) and SCARF (Schizophrenia Research Foundation-India). She has received several awards of appreciation for her dedicated services for the same. Shalini is regularly involved in the workshops for the nonprofit organizations, contributing to the underprivileged.
