BILATERAL RELATIONS-ZAMBIA AND INDIA
Reflection on the Re-Election of His Excellency Shri Narendra Modi on the Zambia-India Bilateral Relations
Zambia joins the rest of the world in congratulating His Excellency Shri Narendra Modi for his re-election as the Prime Minister of India for his third term in office. Further, we congratulate the people of India for peacefully holding elections, reflecting the aspirations of the biggest democracy in the world which is worth emulating.
The re-election of Shri Modi is an assurance of continuity in cooperation based on mutual respect and understanding especially for the Global South for which he has demonstrated unwavering support especially under India’s G-20 presidency which saw the admission of the African Union among other achievements.
Shri Modi has made efforts to strengthen economic ties with African countries through initiatives such as the India-Africa Forum Summit and Zambia has no doubt that this will lead to further investment and trade opportunities between India and Zambia thereby boosting economic growth and development.
Overall, the bilateral relations between Zambia and India are characterized by mutual respect, cooperation, and shared interests. Both countries continue to explore opportunities for collaboration in various sectors to further strengthen their ties and promote socio-economic development for their respective populations and we are looking forward to more success stories between Zambia and India under Shri Modi’s third term.
H.E. Percy P. Chanda, High Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia, New Delhi
