The Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) is a non-sectarian global organization for the 30 million PIOs spread around the world in about 100 countries. Through cooperation and communication, GOPIO engages in the PIOs’ well being.

We welcome the Indian Diaspora to GOPIO’s International network of PIOs. GOPIO is a global organization with chapters in the UK, USA, Mauritius, Malaysia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Guyana, Trinidad, Suriname and many other places.

GOPIO was founded at the First Global Convention of People of Indian Origin in New York in 1989. The initial thrust of GOPIO was to globally network the widely spread PIOs in a large number of countries. GOPIO has now set its priorities in pooling our resources, both financially and professionally, for the benefit of PIOs and for the countries they come from.

GOPIO, the Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin visualizes the international PIO community as an organized and dynamic group. The PIOs are one among the main diasporas in the world. GOPIO promotes the well being of PIOs with the main objective of enhancing their socio-economic growth in this era when the world is a global village.

GOPIO engages the diaspora through academic forums, international conventions, local and international business delegations, entrepreneurs recognition awards and facilitates PIO scholarships.

We have moved into the third decade of the new millennium. It is an exciting new era of interaction and networking. The dynamics of globalization will impact the social, cultural and economic aspects. Through effective network, the PIOs can face the challenges of the changing world collectively and reap the benefits from economical, educational and cultural activities.

And further, collectively as a Diaspora, the PIOs shall synergize with the huge economic growth of India. GOPIO International is focused on facilitating the PIO Diaspora with India for socio and economic benefits. Further, GOPIO’s global efforts are implemented locally through the relevant PIO sister organizations.

Can you please elaborate on the GOPIO International Expo and Business Summit 2023?

GOPIO International Expo and Business Summit 2023 is a major trade and business event aimed at fostering increased engagement and collaboration among PIO businesses from all corners of the globe.

This summit serves as a platform to benefit business enterprises with the ultimate goal of creating new business opportunities and stimulating economic growth for PIOs both in Malaysia and abroad.

The Summit will emphasize current business needs such as Environment, Social and Governance (ESG), Sustainable Tourism, Trading and Technology. The Summit will also feature eminent speakers, thought leaders and experts in business segments such as franchising, logistics, agriculture and others.

This Business Summit is an important platform in nurturing minds and synergizing for greater achievements.
