Why was Rajkot chosen as the city to set up the University campus?

With around 14 Talukas, Rajkot is regarded as the fastest growing economic, industrial, and pedagogical hub of Saurashtra-Kutch region. It is envisioned as a Smart City with an intense focus on developing next-gen leaders and entrepreneurs through education. It is the 35th largest metropolitan area in India and 7th fastest growing city in the World. It also is a leading centre of India in the field of Diesel-Engines, Submersible Pumps, Forging Industries, Ceramic as well as Textile Industries.
