We had featured Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on our cover in September 2015. At the time he was Union Minister of State with Independent Charge of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) in the Indian Government. In September 2017, following a restructuring, Mr Pradhan was elevated to cabinet rank by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While he continues to be in charge of the MoPNG, he now has an additional and significant portfolio, that of Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Skilling India is one of the high-priority sectors of the NDA Government with the PM personally keen to see it bring about a change in the fortunes of millions of Indians. The Ministry of SDE has invested heavily in restructuring and re-energising the skill ecosystem in the country. In yet another interesting interview, Mr Pradhan speaks to INDIA EMPIRE Magazine on shaping India’s skilling landscape and a host of related issues.
