OBSERVANCE OF ARMED FORCES DAY

Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi observed the Armed Forces Day on November 22, 2021 marking the founding of Army, Navy and Air Force during the 1971 Liberation War of Bangladesh. The High Commission hosted a reception in Bangabandhu Hall of its chancery to mark the 50th anniversary of our Armed Forces day by paying homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the martyrs of the Liberation War of 1971.

This year Bangladesh is celebrating the ‘Golden Jubilee’ of its independence and the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangladesh and India are also observing their 50th year of diplomatic relation and defence ties between these two countries.

To celebrate this special day, Honourable Union Minister for Defence of Government of India, Shri Rajnath Singh was present as chief guest, H.E. High Commissioner to India, Muhammad Imran, Chief of Army Staff- General Manoj Mukund Naravane, PVSM, SM, VSM, ADC; Chief of Air Staff-Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhury, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC and Chief of Naval Staff- Admiral Karambir Singh, PVSM, AVSM, ADC were also present as special guests among other dignitaries. The national anthems of both the countries were played.
