The General Election Commission reported that a total of 2,000,624 eligible voters had signed up, but when the ballots closed before midnight on 9 June, a total of 1,216,246 voters had cast their ballot, which meant that the voter turnout was 60.8 per cent. On the total voted 823,326 people or roughly 68 per cent of the voters had supported the MPP candidate U. Khurelsukh, who had previously served as the country’s Prime Minister from 2017-2021, further consolidating the power of the ruling Mongolian People’s Party (MPP), which now holds sway in the Parliament, the Government and now the President’s Office. U. Khurelsukh’s runner-up was D. Enkhbat with 246,968 votes (20.31%) and S. Erdene trailed in third place, with 72,832 votes, only 5.99 per cent of the total, the lowest ever in any Presidential election. Members and supporters were totally devastated since the Democratic Party candidate had not even collected the number of blank ballot papers cast by voters with differing views.
