The Indian diaspora is a wonderful place to write from, and I am lucky to be part of it

According to some recent demographic estimates, more than 30 million people of Indian origin currently reside outside India. This number consists of both NRIs and PIOs. That’s a huge Indian diaspora spread across the globe. Many of these people, especially the PIOs, have only heard stories about their place of origin; they have never been on their home soil. Quite understandably, the need to connect with their roots is quite profound in this segment of the diaspora. Recognizing this need, the Government of India offers various diaspora services through its ministries and other institutions. However, in recent times, there have been some changes in the engagement model.
India Empire magazine has always kept a close tab on the developments concerning diaspora services. In the wake of these recent developments, the magazine organized an online mini-conclave. Eminent personalities representing the global Indian diaspora joined this online session and presented their views. Editor-in-chief and publisher of India Empire magazine, Mr Sayantan Chakravarty, moderated the February 6, 2021 Mini Conclave that focused on Fast-tracking Indian diaspora’s engagement with India.
