The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) is the apex body for private real estate developers in India. On an all-India basis, it has over 9,000 members across 20 states and 128 cities.

For Dr Anil Sharma, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Amrapali Group, to become the president of the CREDAI’s NCR (Delhi and adjoining regions) chapter is a matter of prestige. This chapter can boast of some of the biggest names in the Indian real estate industry by some distance. Helming the NCR chapter also shows the regard the industry has both for Dr Sharma as well as the Amrapali brand that he’s nurtured over a decade.

For investing NRIs, it is also important to take a look at the CREDAI website and get to know about all the services that they offer customers. Grievances regarding real estate can be taken up with the CREDAI. It also has a Youth Wing now.

India Empire’s Consulting Editor Yogesh Sood who has tracked the real industry majors for over a decade has done this interview-based piece on Dr Sharma, an

M-Tech in structural engineering from IIT, Kharagpur, asking him a range of questions related to the Amrapali Group as well as CREDAI.

Moving towards the African continent, we have an excellent story done by a former Kenyan newspaper editor, Mr Kul Bhushan, on a Sikh Calendar. Through pictures and illustrations, it talks about the history and personalities of the Sikh diaspora in Kenya, many of whom interacted with Mr Bhushan during his 45-year stay in that country.

Continuing with Africa, we have a story on the present unrest in South Africa and how it has come to affect minorities. It is brought to you by Dr Heinrich Matthee, a Europe-based political risk analyst who is also a research associate with the Free State University, SA.

We also have an interview with Mr Uday Dholakia, the chairman of the Leicestershire Asian Business Association (LABA) which is a partner of the Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre (OIFC), a PPP between the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs and the Confederation of Indian Industry. India Empire is a Media Partner with the OIFC.

There is a range of other stories that relates to India’s engagement with its Diaspora.

Happy reading.
