INDIA EMPIRE is a monthly magazine that allows NRIs to showcase their achievements and issues in the Indian market. It also allows Indians to showcase opportunities in India before an NRI audience. It also allows NRIs worldwide to connect among themselves.

Between October 2004 and May 2010, 68 issues of the magazine have been brought out.

Political and business leaders in the Indian diaspora have featured extensively in the magazine over the years. Presidents, prime ministers, business and community leaders across the world have been interviewed and featured. Among the political personalities interviewed are Anerood Jugnauth (President of Mauritius), Navinchandra Ramgoolam (Prime Minister of Mauritius), Bharrat Jagdeo (President of Guyana), Lenny Saith (acting PM of Trinidad and Tobago), Winston Dookeran (former acting PM of Trinidad and Tobago). Besides, interviews with mayors, governors and ministers in countries such as Malaysia, Canada, South Africa, USA, and New Zealand have appeared in the magazine. These men and women are all overseas Indians.

A host of leading members of the Indian business community have also been featured over the years. We have featured them in order to recognize the hard work and economic success of the Indian diaspora, something that has branded India so well outside India.

Among the leading nations to which the magazine has been able to connect in the last five years are: USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Reunion Islands, Mauritius, Malaysia, Singapore. The magazine has made its presence felt in the Caribbean and the Middle East. 

Through its reach and presence it is able to position itself as a premier product in its segment, and has been aptly recognized by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, India and such world bodies like the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO).

The magazine has started recognizing the achievements of the Indian diaspora through its annual INDIA EMPIRE NRI AWARDS NIGHT. Top overseas Indians have been honoured in various fields. The awards were presented by chief guest Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Vayalar Ravi. The guest of honour was Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. INDIA EMPIRE Publications is also in the business of printing and designing layouts for books and journals, especially those on the diaspora. It has also done several turnkey projects for diplomatic missions in India as well as printed and designed books on travel and emigration of indentured workers. More recently, it had been tasked to bring out a bi-monthly publication for an Indian High Commission.

INDIA EMPIRE is edited and published by Sayantan Chakravarty who has worked as an investigative journalist with INDIA TODAY magazine for eight years, with INDIAN EXPRESS newspapers for six years, and been in the corporate world for four years. While editing and publishing INDIA EMPIRE he also advised a Union Cabinet Minister and his ministry on media affairs for two years. He has also been appointed a co-chair of GOPIO’s Media Council.
