What kind of high level visits taken place between India and Senegal in recent times?

Senegal and India share a historic, diversified and strategic partnership. This relationship is developing each year at the political and cultural level as well in economic and financial terms.

In October 2015, Our President, His Excellency Mr. Macky Sall participated in the third India-Africa Forum Summit in New Delhi with a strong delegation and last year, he also visited India during the 52nd African Development Bank meeting in Ahmedabad which was held from 22 to 26 May 2017. On both these occasions, Our President met the Honourable Prime Minister of India, His Excellency, Honourable Shri Narendra Modi, and had cordial and fruitful bilateral meeting.

Minister of State, Shri M.J. Akbar visited Senegal from 6-8 September 2017 as Special Envoy of the Honourable Prime Minister Modi.

Please tell us about the Pan-African E-Network Project in which Senegal host the satellite earth station?

The Project was inaugurated on 26 February 2009. Senegal was amongst the first few countries to sign the bilateral agreement with Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd. (TCIL) to be a part of the Pan African e-Network project. With effect from September 2012, Fann Hospital at Dakar has been designated a Super Specialty Regional Hospital. Telemedicine classes are held at Fann Hospital while tele-education classes are held at St. Louis University in the North of Senegal.
