What kind of presence do Indian companies have in Peru, and likewise, Peruvian firms in India?

Indian entrepreneurs are working on important investments in Peru, where they have discovered many opportunities for the expansion of their business. These companies are related to the mining sector, agriculture, information technology, manufacturing of pharmaceuticals products as well as in the service sector such as hotels, restaurants and cinemas. The India Chamber of Commerce in Peru (INCHAM) is supporting this endeavor. Meanwhile, the presence of Peruvian companies in India is also increasing. Major Peruvian investment in India belongs to the mining sector and some Peruvian companies are investing in manufacturing. The Commercial Office as a part of the Embassy of Peru in India is in charge of promoting Peruvian investments in India. To this end, it has identified some important sectors for the globalization of Peruvian companies. The opening of a Peru India Chamber of Commerce in Delhi is already in process.

What are the major items of exports from India to Peru, and from Peru to India?

Among Latin American Countries, Peru is rapidly emerging as one of the most important trade partners for India. The main Indian exports to Peru are towers of Iron and steel, automobiles, copper articles, pharmaceutical products, two-wheeler motorcycles, flat-rolled products, iron or non-alloy steel, machines for the sugar manufacture, synthetic filament yarns, cotton yarns and fabrics, among other products.
